Rails, Roads & Runways
Children learn about their world through play and by watching adults. Play is much more motivating. When a child plays with a vehicle, here are a few of the skill areas that are targeted:
- fine motor
- hand eye coordination & dexterity
- social skills
- gross motor and whole body skills
Many early learning concepts such as cause and effect, opposites and of course speech and language skills are developed through this type of play. Children love building a train track and making the train longer, and seeing how fast it will go, how it can go backwards, or crash into another car. These are all their way of learning about the world around them and how they fit into that world.
